The villages are reachable within 4-5 hrs by walking distance about 2-3 hrs village road drive to Chitlang.

The Markhu village located near the Kulekhani of Makwanpur districts. The village has also been declared as a tourist destination recently. Boating is the main attraction of the village located along the shores of the Lake. Nepali as well as foreign tourists reach Markhu on holidays as well as during some festivals to enjoy the motorboat ride. These days, Makhu is gaining popularity also for the locally produced tasty fish along with boating.

Some small hotels provide accommodation in Markhu located at a road distance of just 7km from Kulekhani. The tourists are advised to exercise caution while boating in the deep reservoir. From Markhu the Kulekhani reservoir can be seen and walking on the road above of the reservoir it takes around 2-3 hours to reach a place called Kalanki Markhu.

Kulekhani is a Nepali word which means a ‘mine of water’. It is a beautiful and panoramic landscape situated in Makwanpur district. It is located at 39km south of Kathmandu and 42 km north of Hetauda through Bhainse and Bhimphedi while from Kathmandu a road leads to Kulekhani through Balkhu, Pharping.  Kulekhani is mainly famous for fishing, hiking, trekking and boating.

Hence, it has a great prospect of adventure tourism. Kulekhani can be reached from Kathmandu in few ways but two of the ways are usually used. First, by driving on a vehicle through the Dakshinkali- Hetauda highway and second one is by hiking about 19-20 km from Naubise. A vehicle can also be taken from Naubise to Kulekhani but since the Dakshinkali-Hetauda highway is much more time saver than the Naubise- Hetauda route travelers rarely use that route. But, this route is most famous and most used for hiking.
